SARS Tax Amnesty for Small Businesses looms – May 31 2007

Posted on May 28th, 2007 by Richard Catto 3,742 views

If you operate a small business which had a turnover under R10 million in 2006 and your tax affairs are not in order, this is your golden opportunity to get right with SARS!

The amnesty means you will not have to pay any tax on income accrued before March 31 2005. VAT and PAYE taxes owed up to February 28 2006 will be cancelled.

No penalties, no back taxes, no interest, no criminal prosecution IF you apply and qualify for the Tax Amnesty.

What you need to do first is read the SARS Small Business Tax Amnesty.

To apply, you need to fill in some forms and then go to your nearest SARS branch with your completed forms and hand them in.

This needs to be done by the latest May 31 2007.

SARS branches are remaining open till 18h00 Mon – Thursday this week to cope with all the applicants.

If you wish to escape owing all those old taxes and be free from criminal prosecution, this is your way out.
