Some surprising results of Prof Anderson’s research:

A web site displaying the TrustE seal of approval is TWICE as likely to contain malware as a site not displaying it. Why? Because the BAD GUYS have a greater incentive to persuade people to trust them.
The top text advert on Google is also TWICE as likely to be malicious as the top free search result. On other search engines, it’s even worse – the top advert is 3 to 4 times as likely to be malicious.
